The Sierra Montessori Academy (SMA) is a K-8 California public charter school. We offer a blended program of Montessori Philosophy with California Standards Based Curriculum to students in the Sierra foothills. Sponsored by Nevada County, SMA is tuition-free and open to the public.
We are located in South Nevada County just a few minutes north of Auburn. Our school offers a private school environment where students excel in small class sizes of less than 25 student with a blended curriculum focusing on State Content Standards and Montessori curriculum and philosophy. Using the Montessori method as an integrated approach to learning, individual variations in a child's development allows the focus to be on educating the whole child.
